About Me

Hello! My name is Maeve. I'm a 24 year old educator from Columbus, Ohio with a passion for student-centered, social-justice driven teaching. After graduating in English Literature from Northwestern University,  I taught for two years in Brooklyn, New York through the Teach for America program, earning my masters degree in Childhood education from Fordham University. Two years was all it took to know that education will be a life-long passion of mine.

This past spring I was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach English in South Korea. Though ultimately I hope to return to work in a high-needs school in New York,  I knew that this once in a life-time chance to expand my Korean teaching practice and learn about a different education system-and myself!-was too good to pass up. So this year I'll be recording my teaching trials (and errors!) on this blog. Check back for more lesson ideas and reflections throughout the school year!
